MTV World Stage 2012!

Alright people, have you guys read my previous post on Blogopolis 2012? I hope you do =)

Back to the topic, I went to the Nuffnang Blogopolis and MTV World Stage which were both held on the same day (last Saturday). I’ve been wanting to go World Stage since I was form 5 which is 2010, and Katy Perry was the performer but I couldn’t get the passes and I was back at my hometown sitting for exams during that time period. I was really sad.

I felt so bad for unable to attend World Stage Live in Malaysia 2012, and therefore during last year, which is 2011, I started to study in KL and I kept on taking part in the contests just for the sake of winning passes. 30 Seconds to Mars was the main performer.

So I’ve finally got myself two passes, however I don’t really interested in the lineup and I had something else really important to do that day. 

Ends up I gave away the two passes to my friend, Shaun.

I’ve been missing this MTV world stage for two years and I don’t want to miss it anymore.

I’ve got my passes for this year, thanks to Nuffnang and Xpax. 

There’s one thing, NN Blogopolis ends at 6pm something and it’s situated at Concorde Hotel whereas MTV World Stage opened its gate at 3.30pm and is located at the Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach. 

To attend both events, I had to leave the Blogopolis earlier (T_T) and pray for all the best so that there’ll be no traffic congestion on our way to Sunway so that we won’t miss out the event.

Luckily the road was smooth. We went to a petrol station and bought some snacks. When I almost reached Sunway, I gave my sister Samantha a call and asked for her location. Mandy and I reached there at around 5pm.Samantha went to the World Stage with her friend, Sherene.

They started to wait and line up at the Surf Beach since 2pm and they got the front row.

Alright after we parked the car and happily Mandy and I both carried snacks in our bag and we were walking excitedly to the Sunway Lagoon. There was already a large crowd at the entrance. Many people were selling MTV World Stage merchandise such as MTV tee, tags and etc. There are some sponsors booth out there as well such as Xpax.

When I first walked into the Lagoon, there was a tall guy who passed by us and when I looked into his face, wow that was Ryan from Hitz.fm and he seemed so rushed. So we passed the security session and I was walking with super confident (macam yes) because I knew that they don’t allow people to bring drinks and I’ve already left all my drinks in the car.

Who knows they don’t allow snacks as well.

When they took away my Mister Potato, I mumbled to the guards: “Alright, take it all take it all!” (T_T)

Childish me. hahahhaha. Hopefully they don’t waste the food.

I understand the fact that they don’t allow drinks, because they afraid that we might throw the bottles towards the performers, but why snacks not allowed either??

As we walk nearer to the stage, we spotted a few food stalls and they are actually selling drinks and food as well.

And I was like dahell. They don’t allow us to bring outside food just for the sake that we’ll buy them from those stalls. Not only that, the food are really pricey, they are selling a can of Coke which usually costs 2 bucks at 5 bucks. 

The World Stage was hosted by VJ Holly and VJ Rich.

The world stage started with Justin Bieber performance, continued with Kara, Mizz Nina and ends with Jay Park. Here are some photos of the performers.

Anyway this was the first time of me attending outdoor concert and I actually found out some tips and would like to share out. I hope this would be useful for you guys.

8 Survival Tips on attending an outdoor concert:

1. Don’t bring drink or snacks (the guards don’t allow you to do so)

2. Eat before a concert (avoid dizziness or faint)

3. Don’t wear skirts or dresses (you won’t like your skirt to fly up)

4. Make sure you’re wearing comfortable footwear (duh no heels!)

5. Please bring a mini electric fan or a manual fan 

5. Do not apply smudgable eyeliner (you will look like a mess) 

6. Wear spaghetti strap or tank top (it’s really hot esp in Msia)

7. Go with an accompany of your friend

8. If you really can’t stand of squeezing with the sweaty smelly people in the hot weather, 

please don’t go for an outdoor concert.

It’s totally not your thing!

I’m serious especially the 8th point!! I really hate the feeling of squeezing with people.

People around just keep pushing around and it’s really annoying. And believe me, the smell of the crowd sweat makes me sick. Yucks. 

Anyway it’s still a different kind of experience so I did learn something I guess.
